With its strengths in pharmaceutical education and research—particularly in the fields of medicinal plants, traditional medicine, health care products, and cosmeceuticals—the Department of Pharmacy aims to partner with businesses to translate research findings into practical applications, thereby helping to enhance the value of domestic medicinal plants.

“We expect that our collaboration with Life Gift Vietnam Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will open up many opportunities for research, technology transfer, and the development of products that embody the essence of traditional Vietnamese medicine, thereby making a tangible contribution to public health,” said Dr. Phan Thien Vy, Pharm.D.

Expanding cooperation between the university and businesses is expected to enable research projects to gain access to production processes, thereby gradually bridging the gap between laboratory research and practical applications.

Life Gift Vietnam focuses on standardizing raw materials and developing products for the long term

Discussing the company’s research direction, product development, and raw material standardization, Mr. Tran Viet Thanh, General Director of Life Gift Vietnam, stated that the company has screened and selected key raw material suppliers that meet requirements regarding supply capacity, quality management systems, appropriate GMP/GACP certifications, certificates of analysis (COA), and technical documentation. The evaluation, selection, and approval of suppliers must adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the quality of raw materials used in research, regulatory filing, and production.

In the coming period, Life Gift plans to collaborate with relevant departments, agencies, and partners to develop GACP-compliant medicinal herb cultivation areas, gradually securing a stable supply of raw materials and ensuring traceability.

Regarding the project’s objectives, Mr. Tran Viet Thanh emphasized that, in line with the government’s direction to develop traditional Vietnamese medicine in a scientific, modern, and internationally integrated manner, Life Gift is focused on developing key long-term products, building on the essence of traditional medicine and leveraging its existing production capabilities.

The flagship products researched, manufactured, and processed by Life Gift Vietnam were showcased at the event.

For now, the company will prioritize selecting a viable product for its first application. Accordingly, a timeline of 6–12 months will be established after a comprehensive assessment of the requirements for research, testing, stability studies, and clinical trials—if required—to ensure that the timeline aligns with professional standards and the regulatory approval process.

Regarding the investment budget for the first year, the CEO of Life Gift Vietnam stated that the company plans to make targeted investments, leveraging existing factory infrastructure and production capacity to optimize costs. The specific budget will be approved based on priority products and a detailed cost estimate, including items such as formula research, raw materials, pilot production, testing, stability studies, clinical trials if necessary, completion of regulatory filings, and contingency costs.

Funding will be allocated in phases to ensure sufficient resources for implementing the required technical components, in line with the company’s research and product development strategy.
